Vehicle designThe Canadian Military Pattern was developed in the 1930s and it was assumed from the very beginning that this type of vehicle would be used by the Canadian and British armies, but also by other British Commonwealth forces. Their maximum unification was also assumed from the very beginning. Mass production started on a large scale after the defeat of BEF at Dunkirk in the summer of 1940.
