Once called the “Spitfire of World War One” and considered by many pilots to be the best British single-seat fighter of the time, the Royal Aircraft Factory (RAF) SE5 was instrumental in regaining and maintaining allied air superiority in mid-1917. It’s one of the most recognizable aircraft of the era, and six manufacturers constructed more than 5000 examples. Inspired by the original ParkZone model, the E-fliteSE5a 900mm features an all-new design that includes more scale detail along with modern-day features and technologies to deliver an unmatched flying experience with surprising capabilities and performance. It bolts and snaps together in almost no time and is small enough to be easy to store and transport without disassembly so it can be flown at large parks, sports fields, and RC flying fields, too. The BNF Basic version is equipped with enhanced AS3X+technology that smooths out the effects of wind and turbulence better than ever before. It’s also equipped with optional-use SAFESelect technology that makes it even easier to fly! Both versions include Spektrumdigital, metal-geared servos, a 45A Smart Lite ESC, plus a 3S and 4S compatible motor.

The SE5 is one of the most iconic fighters of WWI, yet it’s rarely modeled in any scale for RC. The E-fliteSE5a 900mm is a conveniently sized replica that offers unmatched scale detail, modern-day conveniences, features, and technologies to deliver truly unexpected levels of flight performance! It’s capable of slow and smooth scale flying plus basic aerobatics and if you crank up the throws, it’s also capable of surprisingly aggressive aerobatics, including snaps, “pop tops,” and more. This makes it more fun for intermediate to experienced pilots to fly than any other SE5 model!

It features a variety of scale details, including moulded-in ribs, radiator and exhaust details, machine guns and pilot figure with a scarf, plus optional-use elastic flying wires. Functional features include large scale main wheels and a hidden steerable tailwheel, along with wings and struts that bolt and snap into place for easy assembly and disassembly. Yet it’s sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly and so it can be flown at large parks, sports fields, and RC flying fields. The factory-installed digital and metal-geared servos provide precise and reliable control at every speed. And the power system includes a Spektrumoutrunner motor and an Avian 45-amp Smart Lite ESC compatible with popular 3S and 4S 2200-3200mAh batteries. The BNF Basic version is also equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver featuring exclusive and enhanced AS3X+along with optional-use SAFESelect technologies. Plus, both versions are factory-finished in the classic Royal Flying Corps two-tone with roundels trim scheme.

Skill Level 3 Experience Required

Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already have the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. This PNP version requires more experience and skills to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version because you will need to install a receiver that does not already include properly tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. You should have the experience and skills necessary to assemble and successfully fly models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.2m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the SE5a 900mm PNP version.

Plug-N-Play Completion Level

The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos that are ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately), plus the transmitter and battery you provide (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!

Flexible Power

The factory-installed Spektrum brushless outrunner motor is 3S and 4S compatible to offer a wide range of “mild to wild” performance from scale flying and performing basic aerobatics with 3S batteries to unlimited vertical plus unexpected aggressive aerobatic performance with 4S batteries! The convenient top-mounted and magnetically secured hatch makes installing and removing common and popular 22003200mAh batteries easy.

Easy Assembly

No glue or special tools are required for final assembly so you can have the SE5a 900mm ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! And although it’s conveniently sized to fit fully assembled in almost any vehicle, you can remove the one-piece wings for easier storage and transport. Just a few screws and struts that snap into and out of place easily mean you can remove/install the wings in just a few minutes.
